A leopard was sighted in a residential area in Ghaziabad’s Kavi Nagar area, just 40 kms from Delhi, on Tuesday. In a CCTV clip, tweeted by news agency ANI, the big cat can be seen walking along the lanes of the posh locality.
The residents informed forest officials and teams were formed to scour the area. District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey asked residents to stay indoors while the search was on. The leopard was finally caught and taken away by the forest officials.

The big cat entered the generator room of the vice chairperson of the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), PTI quoted officials as saying.
When a sweeper was about to start the generator, the leopard jumped on him, causing him to scream. Some other workers reached there and attacked the leopard with batons, following which it climbed a tree and entered an institute campus, officials said.
In August, the footage of a leopard was captured by a CCTV in the adjoining locality of Vaishali
