West Bengal polls: Haripal constituency elected a TMC candidate in 2016


The Haripal assembly constituency is currently held by Trinamool Congress MLA Becharam Manna, who defeated Jogiyananda Mishra of CPM in 2016. The seat, one of West Bengal’s 294 assembly constituencies, falls under the Arambagh Lok Sabha constituency. 

The Haripal assembly constituency is politically leaned towards the TMC led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, however, this was not the case until 2011. Before that, Haripal was a CPI(M) led constituency.
